Hamden ATV Rider Arrested In New Haven: PD
The rider was at a vigil for someone who was killed in a crash the day before, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A dirt bike rider was killed in what is believed to be a single-vehicle crash, according to police.
A dirt biker crashed around 9:11 p.m. in the area of 585 Sherman Avenue July 21. Richard Samuels, 28, of New Haven was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.
The following evening an unruly vigil was held for Samuels in the area where he crashed, Hartman said. Numersou ATV and dirt bikes were being operated illegally. Three ATVs were seized and two men were arrested. Terrence Broxton, 29, of NEw Haven was charged with three drug crimes, six motor vehicle crimes and interfering with police after he tried to flee a gas station.

About 25 dirt bikes were spotted on Sherman Avenue. Operator Ryshawn Daniels, 31, of Hamden was charged with reckless driving, operating an unregistered vehicle and possession of marijuana.
