Hamden-Based Cooking School Approved for Milford: Report

MILFORD, CT — A cooking school will open in Milford after all. The Fig Cooking School operated by Heide Lang will open at 42 Naugatuck Ave., the Milford Mirror reports.

Lang had sought to open her cooking school at part of the Stowe Property, which the city purchased more than a decade ago but that never happened as a group of residents opposed that move.

The new location for the cooking school will be next to a deli, package store, art shop, and there will be an apartment above it, the Mirror reports. Lang operates her cooking school in Hamden, where she lives, and has been looking for a larger space.

Her attorney said the school will teach cooking classes, and the classes attract 12-14 and up to 25 people at times, and that it operates on demand with the busiest season between September and May. The Mirror reports that in the summer Leng would like to provide a take-out service for people utilizing the beach.
