Hamden Book Group to Discuss 'Everything I Never Told You'

The Book Group will be discussing 'Everything I Never Told You' by Celeste Ng on August 28 and 31.

From Hamden Library: The Hamden Book Group will be discussing “Everything I Never Told You” by Celeste Ng on Monday, August 28 at 6:30 pm and Thursday, August 31 at 2:30 pm in the Friends Room at Miller Memorial Library, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden.

In a July 6, 2014 review in the Los Angeles Times, Hector Tobar writes, "Everything I Never Told You" is an engaging work that casts a powerful light on the secrets that have kept an American family together -- and that finally end up tearing it apart,” and in his description of the novel in an August 17, 2014 review in the New York Times Alexander Chee states,

“The term literary thriller might make you scoff, but Ng has set two tasks in this novel's doubled heart - to be exciting, and to tell a story bigger than whatever is behind the crime. She does both by turning the nest of familial resentments into at least four smaller, prickly mysteries full of the secrets the family members won't share.”
