Hamden Cops: Woman Leaves Two Children Unattended In a Car

The woman was looking for her keys in an apartment, she told police.

This time the person wasn’t shopping.

Hamden police say Breanna Prechelle Muriel, 21, of New Haven, is accused of leaving two children, 1 and 9, unattended in the backseat of a vehicle Monday night at 670 Mix Avenue, the New Haven Register reports.

Police said they were called to the parking lot because someone saw the children unattended around 9:30 p.m. Prechelle said she was looking for her car keys in an apartment, the Register reports.

The temperature inside the car was about 68 degrees and the children were unharmed. Prechelle was charged with two counts of leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle.
