Hamden Coronavirus Update: 1st Death Reported
A Hamden resident has died from complications of the new coronavirus, officials announced Tuesday.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden resident has died from complications of the new coronavirus, Mayor Curt Balzano Leng announced Tuesday. It is the town’s first confirmed death related to COVID-19. Leng said there is no patient demographic information available at this time.
“As a community, our thoughts, shared sadness and prayers are with the family of our departed resident and with everyone suffering from this disease,” Leng said in a statement. “Please take this seriously. Please stay away from others. Please call your doctor and Yale’s COVID Hotline at 833-ASK-YNHH if you feel any symptoms or have health questions. We can reduce additional senseless loss of life for our families, friends and neighbors, but we need to do it together and take actions right now.
“May God bless you and your families, please be safe and be smart."
