Hamden Coronavirus Updates: 500-Plus Cases, 30 Deaths
More than 500 Hamden residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus, including 30 deaths, officials said Friday.
HAMDEN, CT — More than 500 Hamden residents have tested positive for the new coronavirus, including 30 deaths, Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said in an update Friday. There were 516 confirmed cases as of Friday afternoon, according to the state health department, and Leng said he was “very saddened to report that 30 residents have lost their lives from this pandemic.”
“Please stay the course & double down on social/physical distancing, staying home or outdoors away from others, wearing a facial covering whenever it is essential to be among people, keep washing your hands and staying home if you feel ill,” Leng wrote in a post on Facebook. “If we keep doing this, stay strong, keep our resolve, keep fighting, we can continue to slow the spread and save lives.
“We’re in this together and I need everyone to please be safe, do their part, be smart ... it will help your family, your neighbor’s family, our hard working first responders, every front line worker ... our Hamden community.
