Hamden Deputy Police Chief Placed On Administrative Leave: Report

The deputy chief has been placed on paid administrative leave pending internal investigations.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden Deputy Police Chief William Onofrio is on paid administrative leave pending several internal investigations and allegations of misconduct against him regarding extra-duty shifts he worked at Quinnipiac University, according to the New Haven Register.

The Register reports that Quinnipiac is alleging that Onofrio showed up late to his shifts numerous times but entered earlier starting times on his job slips.

Onofrio, who has been a member of the department since 1979, is also accused of leaving the Quinnipiac campus for several hours at a time while working an overtime shift, according to the Register.
