Hamden Drug Bust Nets Crack Cocaine, Marijuana
The Hamden Street Interdiction Team concluded a month-long investigation and executed a search warrant in New Haven and arrested two men.

Hamden police have arrested two men on drug charges following a month-long investigation that has resulted in the seizure of 36 bags of crack cocaine and 22 grams of marijuana.
The Hamden Police Department Street Interdiction Team concluded a month long investigation on Jan. 14, which culminated in the execution of a search warrant at 178 Bassett Street in New Haven, Capt. Ronald Smith said in a press release.
Smith said the search warrant resulted in the seizure of 36 bags of crack cocaine and 22 grams of marijuana. The overall street value of the drugs is estimated at $700.

Hamden police arrested Dennis Baldwin, 22, of 178 Bassett Street in New Haven, on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell, possession of narcotics with the intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.
Baldwin, who was detained at police headquarters on a $50,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Jan. 28.

Police also arrested Keron Troutman, 29, of 23 Homestead Avenue in Hamden. Troutman, who was found at the scene with marijuana, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell. He was detained at police headquarters on a $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on Jan. 28.
