Hamden Election 2021: Ralph Nicefaro Jr. Running For Board Of Ed

HAMDEN, CT — The 2021 municipal election is heating up in Hamden with plenty of races on the ballot.

Voters will head to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 and cast their ballots for mayor, town clerk and seats on the legislative council and board of education.

Hamden Patch asked candidates to answer questions about their campaigns and will be publishing candidate profiles as election day draws near.

Ralph Nicefaro Jr., 55, is running for a seat on the Hamden Board of Education as a Republican.

Family: Wife, 54- Catherine, teacher Son, 25- Samuel, retail clerk Daughter, 22- Amy, casting agent

Family in government: No

The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:

students returning to an education system that is able to respond efficiently and compassionately to existing COVID-19 issues. The board of education must consider all families, learning styles, access to technology, and IEP modifications when addressing future COVID-19 outbreaks.

Critical differences between me and my opponents:

We all want what's best for the town and its residents. My 30+ years in the education profession and the insight it allows me is the difference I wish to stress.

Other issues:

Transparency when it comes to fiscal and academic matters and ensuring residents without students in the schools are aware of how funds and resources are being spent.

What else would you like voters to know about you?

I am a life long resident of Hamden and CT and a product of its public and Catholic schools. I was involved with youth basketball and soccer on the coaching level when my children played. I support the arts in schools and as an active member of the Whitney Players.
