HAMDEN, CT — It was a big night for Hamden’s progressive Democrats as the Row A slate of candidates won 19 of 20 seats in Tuesday’s municipal election.

Democrat Lauren Garrett will become Hamden’s next mayor after defeating Republican Ron Gambardella and Independent write-in candidate Albert Lotto in the top of the ticket race.

“WE won!” Garrett wrote in a post on Facebook on Wednesday. “Our amazing, talented, hard-working team won! I’m so proud of the positive, issues-based campaign we ran and the work behind it all. Thank you to the voters for placing your trust in us. Thank you to all of Row A for running and earning every vote. Thank you to the best campaign team for all of your time, energy, commitment, and support. Now the work begins. We will spend everyday working towards a more inclusive, vibrant, affordable Hamden.”
