Family:
Husband: Richard Cho
2 Children, one in Hamden Middle School and one in Hamden High School.
Experience: none
Accomplishments:
I bring more than 20 years of experience in public service working with nonprofits, government, philanthropy, and communities to make communities stronger, sustainable, and more equitable.
I am passionate as a policy maker in uniting people with diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and disciplines to create evidence based, cross sector solutions to the most pressing challenges affecting their community such as homelessness, affordable housing, health care and public safety.
And I am motivated as a parent to ensure Hamden is a town where all our children can thrive, feel safe and welcomed, and are able to look up to our leaders as role models.
Other issues:
My path has been one of fighting for our most vulnerable residents at the local, state and federal level on issues related to ending homelessness, expanding affordable housing, justice reform and increasing access to health care. My approach has been one of direct service and advancing data driven, innovative, and effective public policy.
If elected, I will continue to focus on these priorities as they impact the residents of Hamden.
I am committed to long term, transparent planning that balances hard fiscal choices, without compromising services for Hamden residents, with opportunities for economic development to ensure financial stability and a framework under which Hamden can thrive.
I will prioritize efforts that increase affordable housing, support equitable schools, ensure a path forward from COVID, and particularly for those that were hit the hardest.
