Hamden Firefighters Extinguish 1-Acre Brush Fire

Crews remain on the scene for hot spots and investigation.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden firefighters extinguished a brush fire of about 1 acre on Thursday afternoon.

The Hamden Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire on Mueller Drive at 3:06 p.m.

The fire has been brought under control and companies remain on scene with hot spots, according to Deputy Chief Gary Merwede.

Incident Commander Battalion Chief John Spencer estimates approximately 1 acre or less has been affected.

Deputy Fire Marshal Tim Lunn is on the scene for investigation.
