All areas in the rear of the high school, including the bleachers are off limits except to construction personnel and construction vehicles. Summer programs at the high school will continue as normal with access to the school primarily through the Northern (closest to Chili’s) side of the building.

“The Hamden High School fields are a great gathering place for education, sporting and community events,” Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said in a statement. “These fields are used year-round by students, young athletes and community members alike. These renovations result in better, safer conditions for all.”

“I’m very pleased to see this project go forward,” Legislative Council President James J. Pascarella said. “We will be looking to renovate the baseball field at the conclusion of this project in order to improve the entire outdoor athletic facilities at the high school.”
