Hamden High School Career Fair: Seeking Guest Speakers!
The Hamden High School Counseling Department is looking for community members to volunteer to speak with students about their careers.
Hamden High School is excited to announce our annual Career Fair to be held on October 23, 2015! This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about various careers, and for community members to share their knowledge and passion for their work.
The success of this event each year has been a result of the tremendous involvement of our community members, and this year we are hoping you will join us. We would like to invite you to come and share your expertise with our students at this wonderful event. The atmosphere will be relaxed, and guests will be speaking with students one-on-one or in small groups.
Guests will be placed at tables according to the Connecticut Business Industry Association (CBIA) Career Clusters; Arts and Media, Business and Finance, Construction Technologies and Design, Environmental, Natural Resources and Agriculture, Government, Education and Human Services, Health and Biosciences, Retail, Tourism, Recreation and Entrepreneurial, Technologies: Manufacturing, Communications and Information Technologies. The role of the Guest is to share information with students about their career.

Typical information would include qualifications such as; education, skills, personality, work values and necessary preparation and individual traits in order to be hired and work successfully in your career field. It would also be helpful for the students to know what the job opportunities and salary range are for entry level positions.
Students love to hear about personal experiences so any other information that you think would be helpful would be fine to share. The role of the Student is to approach each guest, listen to the information provided on that particular career and ask appropriate career related questions.

Career Fair Day will take place on Friday, October 23rd at Hamden High School between the hours of 8:15am-11:45am. If you are able to participate for even one period (45 minutes) we would be most appreciative. ( Please respond by Friday, October 16th if you are interested in presenting.
