Hamden High School Moves Up in Boys Ice Hockey Poll

The Green Dragons have won four of their first six outings this season.

HAMDEN, CT — The top 10 teams remained the same in the latest high school boys ice hockey weekly poll, but the positions changed considerably.

Ridgefield (8-1) retained the top spot after posting a trio of victories, but numbers two through eight are all occupied by different teams from the previous week.

Hamden High School moved up a spot to number six in this week's rankings.

The top 10 with records through Jan. 16:

  1. Ridgefield (8-1)
  2. Xavier (7-2)
  3. New Canaan (6-2)
  4. Northwest Catholic (8-1-1)
  5. Fairfield Prep (4-3)
  6. Hamden (4-2)
  7. Notre Dame-West Haven (4-5)
  8. Suffield/Granby/Windsor Locks (8-1)
  9. West Haven (6-1)
  10. East Haven (7-0)

Also receiving votes: Simsbury (4-3), Notre Dame-Fairfield (2-5-1), Darien (2-5), Guilford (6-2), Woodstock Academy (7-0).
