HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Black History Committee will host an event to honor Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18 at the Hamden Plains United Methodist Church, located at 15 Church Street in Hamden.

Please join us this Sunday to celebrate and highlight the message of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a robust program including speakers, musical performances, and light refreshments.

The Hamden Black History Committee raises funds every year for book awards to graduating Hamden High School students. In 2025, several donors gave funds that went beyond the goal of 5 book awards.
