Hamden Honors Ernest Borgnine in Recognition of 100th Birthday
The Academy Award winner, a Hamden native, passed away in 2012.

HAMDEN, CT — Academy Award winner Ernest Borgnine, a Hamden native, was honored by the town Tuesday on what would have been his 100th birthday — the same day that this year’s Academy Award nominations were announced.
Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng proclaimed Jan. 24, 2017 as Ernest Borgnine Day in Hamden.
Borgnine, who died in 2012, won the Academy Award and Golden Globe in 1955 for Marty.
