Hamden Legislative Council Votes on Laurel View Banquet Facility Contract

The Legislative Council approved a two-year agreement with the operator of the Laurel View Golf Course to also take over the operations of the banquet facility at a special meeting Monday night, according to the New Haven Register.

Kate Ramunni of the Register reports that the council also amended the golf contract of Laurel View operator Matt Menchetti to include new provisions that call for infrastructure upgrades and a monthly payment to the town.

A motion to table the item was brought up after two council members questioned why the contract for the banquet facility didn’t go out to bid, but the measure failed, according to Ramunni.

Council members had high praise for Menchetti, who took over operations of the golf course in 2002.
