Hamden Man Accused of Dragging Pregnant Woman Down Stairs By Her Hair

West Haven Police Have arrested Steven Gary, 20, of 2390 State Street in Hamden on Monday.

Gary was wanted on an outstanding domestic violence warrant for an incident that occurred on May 21 in West Haven.

In that Incident, officers responded to a 911 domestic violence call where a pregnant female victim reported being dragged by her hair down a flight of stairs, restrained and struck several times in the face, police said.

Gary fled before police arrived, the victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Gary was found after police received an anonymous tip of his whereabouts.

Gary was arrested and charged with: third-degree assault, unlawful restraint, and disorderly conduct. Gary also had two outstanding warrants for violation of probation. He was held on bond.
