Hamden Man Arrested In December Hit-And-Run That Injured Woman

Hamden police said a woman suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car on School Street on Dec. 20.

HAMDEN, CT — Authorities have arrested and charged a Hamden man in connection with a December hit-and-run that left a woman seriously injured.

Christopher Carey, 35, was arrested Wednesday and charged with several counts including second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, evading responsibility, reckless driving, failure to drive in the proper lane and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

According to Hamden police, Carey was involved in a hit-and-run crash on School Street shortly before 6 p.m. on Dec. 20. Police said a woman suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car driven by Carey.

Carey fled the scene following the collision, police said. Authorities found his vehicle six days later.

Carey was taken into custody and later released on a $30,000 bond. A court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 19.
