Hamden Man Charged with Making Bomb Threat to Prudential Building

The man allegedly made the threat over the phone and Hartford police tracked down his address and arrested him.

A Hamden man was charged with making a bomb threat to the Prudential Financial Building in Hartford on Thursday.

Gary Liederman, 64, of 25 Bradley Avenue, was arrested after allegedly making the bomb threat over the phone to an intake insurance specialist, according to Hartford Police.

Hartford Police responded to Access Health Care, which is located at the Prudential Building on Trumbull Street, around 4:50 p.m.

Police said a caller was speaking to an intake insurance specialist and repeatedly asked for the address where they were located.

When asked exactly why he was inquiring and what exactly he wanted to send, the call said “a bomb,” according to police.

The call was the disconnected.

Patrol units and a supervisor immediately responded and listened to the audio recording.

Police quickly determined there was no immediate threat or hazard at the time.

The suspect’s address was determined through searching the intake number through their accounts, police said.

Police responded to Liederman’s Hamden home and he was arrested.

Liederman was charged with first-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was held on a $75,000 bond.
