Hamden Man Killed in New Haven Double Homicide
A shooting last night left two men dead in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT—Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred in the city Tuesday night.
Police got a call about a person shot in the area of Dewit Street between Putnam and Spring streets around 10:42 p.m.
Police encountered a victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man was identified as Dyshant Levi Mclean, 25, last known address of Dixwell Avenue in said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

The second victim, identified as Tyree McCrea, 36, of New Haven was transported to Yale-New Haven hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. He died an hour later.
"Assistant Chief Achilles Generoso said investigators believe the victims were targeted and that the shootings were not random," according to Hartman. "Detectives are following several strong leads. Autopsies have been scheduled for Thursday. Police have recovered both guns."
