Hamden Named ‘Most Underrated City’ In Connecticut
Thrillest ranks Hamden among its list of the top underrated cities and towns to visit across America.

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden was recently named the “Most Underrated City” in Connecticut to visit by Thrillest. Hamden was highlighted in the Thrillest article “The Most Underrated City to Visit in All 50 States.” Thrillest is an online media brand covering topics such as food, drink, travel and entertainment. The company was founded in 2004 and is based in New York City.
Hamden was highlighted in the article for its variety of delicious pizza restaurants, local music scene, nature trails, and collegiate atmosphere. The article named several local spots, Sleeping Giant, and even praised Olde World Brick Oven Pizza and DiMatteo’s for their “incredible” pizza.
“I am always very pleased when Hamden receives the attention it deserves,” Hamden Mayor Curt Balzano Leng said in a statement. “We’ve got so much to offer in our New England town. Hamden is home to a wide array of unique businesses, recreation areas and peoples, and this diversity is part of what keeps our town strong and thriving. Thrillest pointed out some local favorites, but anyone who visits Hamden will quickly find out we’ve got much, much more to offer.”
