Hamden Nursing Home Fined Over COVID-19 Testing: Report

The state Department of Public Health fined two nursing homes for failing to test all of their employees for the coronavirus.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden nursing home has been fined for failing to test all of their employees for the coronavirus, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Courant reports the Hamden Rehabilitation and Health Care Center was fined $1,140 by the state Department of Public Health for failing to test 39 employees over a two-week period between July 29 and Aug. 10.

The state DPH also fined Avery Heights in Hartford for failing to test 37 employees. The DPH is investigating whether other facilities in the state have failed to follow Gov. Ned Lamont’s executive order to test all employees weekly, according to the Courant.
