Hamden PD Awarded Tier I Accreditation Status
The police department has been awarded its Tier I Accreditation status through the Connecticut Police Officers Standards & Training Council.

HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police Department is proud to announce that on November 9, 2023, the department was awarded our Tier I Accreditation status through the Connecticut Police Officers Standards and Training Council.
Captain Robert D’Aniello was instrumental in achieving this objective for the police department. The police accountability bill requires all law enforcement agencies in Connecticut to be Tier I compliant by December 31, 2023, Tier II compliant by December 2025 and Tier III complaint (fully accredited) by December 2026. Our Tier I accreditation solidifies our commitment to continued transparency, accountability, enforcement, and outreach.

The accreditation process requires agencies to maintain a body of stringent standards developed by public safety practitioners covering a wide range of modern public safety initiatives.
