Hamden Police Blotter: Jan. 23 Through Feb. 2, 2026

Recent arrests by the Hamden Police Department. All charges are allegations and not convictions.

HAMDEN, CT — The following information has been provided by the Hamden Police Department and does not indicate convictions:

Willard H. Mahon, 32, of Bridgeport, was arrested Jan. 23 on charges of violation of protective order and second-degree threatening. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond with a court date of March 2, according to state judicial records.

Luis D. Melendez, 48, of Hamden, was arrested Jan. 25 on charges of second-degree harassment, disseminating intimate image to more than one person, second-degree stalking, and false statement. He was released after posting a $30,000 bond with a court date of March 16.

Jesus Cozayatl-Cabrera, 34, of Hamden, was arrested Jan. 26 on charges of second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $20,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 23.

Aaron L. Askew, 34, of Hamden, was arrested Jan. 28 on charges of third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond with a court date of Feb. 24.

John B. Kelly, 40, of New London, was arrested Jan. 30 on a charge of sixth-degree larceny. He was released on a promise to appear in court on March 16.

Jaquarius D. Lewis, 19, of Hamden, was arrested Jan. 30 on a charge of stealing a firearm. He was additionally charged with third-degree assault, third-degree assault – victim elderly or other, second-degree breach of peace, and risk of injury to child. He was released on a promise to appear in court on March 9.

Aleesha A. Fraser, 31, of Hamden, was arrested Jan. 31 on a charge of second-degree breach of peace. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 9.

Matthew B. Bethea, 31, of Hamden, was arrested Feb. 1 on a charge of fourth-degree larceny. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond with a court date of March 16.

Heidi A. Bokowski, 61, of New Haven, was arrested Feb. 1 on a charge of fifth-degree larceny. She was released on a promise to appear in court on March 31.

Shawn M. Hill, 42, of New Haven, was arrested Feb. 2 on charges of second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. He was being held in lieu of a $5,000 bond with a court date of April 9.

Ashley E. Holmes, 38, of Waterbury, was arrested Feb. 2 on charges of second-degree breach of peace and second-degree threatening. She was released on a promise to appear in court on April 9.

Mario Simmons, 43, of New Haven, was arrested Feb. 2 on a charge of conspiracy to commit fourth-degree larceny. He was being held in lieu of a $100 bond with a court date of March 12.
