Hamden Police Charge Burglar Who Jumped Out of a Window

Hamden police say two officers were able to track down the suspect.

Hamden Police Capt. Ronald Smith said Tuesday afternoon that police have arrested a man in connection with a Dix Street burglary.

On July 30 at approximately 2:15 a.m., Police responded to a Dix Street residence on the report of a burglar alarm sounding, police said.

Moments later, officers observed a light emanating from inside of the house. Manuel Maldonado subsequently jumped out of a window and began running, police said. He was apprehended by Officers Tim Brown and Jay Hankins.

Maldonado, 31, was charged with third-degree burglary. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on August 13th.
