The Wait Is Over: The long-awaited Hamden Police Lip Sync Challenge Video is here.

HAMDEN, CT — The long-awaited Hamden Police Department Lip Sync Challenge video has been released and all indications are that it’s worth the wait. Ever since the Police Lip Sync Challenge videos began popping up, Hamden residents have been clamoring for their department to enter the fray.

Hamden Police announced last Thursday morning that they accepted the North Haven Police Department’s challenge and offered a sneak peek… and now, finally, the wait is over. To sign up for Hamden breaking news alerts and more, click here.

"It's been a month since North Haven PD called us out in the lip sync challenge," police wrote in a post on Facebook. "Since then Officer Nick D'Angelo assisted by Officer Angela Vey assembled a group of officers and Hamden Police Explorers to respond to the challenge and create our very own lip sync challenge video.

"A Special Thanks to Sal DeMaio, Doug Sisson and Rob Baldo for filming, editing and helping produce the video for Hamden PD.

In a touching moment, the department dedicated the video to K-9 Viking, who recently passed away unexpectedly, in the end credits.
