Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce Appoints Two

The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce appoints two Quinnipiac University administrators to its board of directors.

Hamden, CT - Two Quinnipiac University administrators have joined the board of directors of the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Shanna Kornachuk, senior associate director of compliance and student development in athletics and recreation, and Matt Kurz, assistant dean of student affairs, have been appointed to two-year terms, which started this month.

“Both of the new board members from Quinnipiac University will bring unique talents to the chamber,” said Hamden Regional Chamber President Nancy Dudchik. “We’re very pleased to have them serve on our board and look forward to their support as we continue to grow and serve the business community.”

Kurz said, “I am excited about this opportunity to serve our community with such an outstanding organization. The Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce is an exemplary supporter of local businesses, a premier networking association and a leader in business development. I look forward to growing our relationships and connecting with our Hamden neighbors throughout the coming year as a member of this board.”

Kornachuk agreed.

“Quinnipiac is a long-standing member of the chamber, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build upon our partnership with this important community organization,” she said.

Kornachuk, who is part of the executive leadership team in the Department of Athletics and Recreation, leads the department’s compliance efforts within the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and regulations, coordinates a comprehensive rules education program for coaches, staff and student-athletes and has directed development programming to enhance personal, leadership and professional skills among student-athletes.

Kurz has worked for various public and private universities throughout the country and has served on the board of directors for multiple local animal rescue organizations. At Quinnipiac, he ensures that students are engaged in learning both inside and outside of the classroom. He works closely with the new student orientation team, fraternity and sorority life, campus recreation, community service, the Student Government Association, student media and others.
