Hamden Resident Earns GNAC Player Of The Week Honors
The Hamden High School graduate is a senior on the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s Justice Washington, along with teammate Antonio Bonilla (Tenafly, New Jersey), of the Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Player of the Week awards after their outstanding performances in the Falcons' win over Nichols College on Friday, Dec. 30, officials announced Wednesday.
Washington, a Hamden High School graduate, tied a career-high with 18 points and set a new career mark with 17 rebounds over his 35 minutes on the court.
Washington, a senior, was nearly perfect on the floor, going 9-for-10 from the field. He was also a dominant force on the glass, with 14 defensive rebounds and three offensive boards on the way to his second double-double of the season.

Bonilla, a junior, led all players with a season-high 24 points. He went 8-for-14 from the field, 5-for-9 from 3-point range, and 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. Bonilla's five 3-pointers helped swing the game for Albertus.
After earning a 123-94 home victory over Colby-Sawyer College on Tuesday evening, the Falcons return to the court on Thursday, Jan. 5, for a home contest against conference foe Regis (Mass.) College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Cosgrove Marcus Messer Athletic Center.
