Hamden Resident Found Dead At ECSU
An Eastern Connecticut State University student from Hamden was found dead inside a vehicle on campus, officials announced.

HAMDEN, CT — The Eastern Connecticut State University community is mourning the loss of a student who was found dead inside a car late Wednesday night. The student has been identified as Lee Barrett, of Hamden, officials announced Thursday morning.
Eastern Connecticut State University Police found an unresponsive man inside a vehicle in the Shakespeare parking garage just before midnight. He was determined to be deceased.
The medical examiner’s office has been notified and will determine the cause of death, officials said. The University’s Campus Police Department is continuing to investigate. At this time, there is no evidence to indicate foul play, officials said.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lee’s family and friends during their time of grief,” Eastern President Elsa Núñez said in a statement. “This is a tragic loss for them and our entire campus community.”
Counseling services are being made available to the campus community.
