Hamden Resident Named GNAC Player Of The Week
The Hamden High School graduate is a senior on the Albertus Magnus College men's basketball team.
HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s Justice Washington, a senior on the Albertus Magnus College men’s basketball team, was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, officials announced Monday.
Washington, a Hamden High School graduate, played well on both ends of the floor for the Falcons. He averaged a double-double with 18 points per game on 59 percent (23-for-39) shooting from the floor and snagged 13 rebounds while also being active defensively with 1.7 steals and 2.7 blocks per game.
Washington scored 14 points (on 5-for-9 shooting), grabbed nine rebounds, and collected three steals in an 85-78 win over Hartford on Nov. 14.

Two days later, Washington played his part in the Falcons' double-overtime victory over Montclair State, recording a double-double (12 points and 13 rebounds) and blocking five shots.
Then, on Nov. 18, Washington recorded yet another double-double with a career-high 28 points and 17 rebounds while also collecting two blocks and steals apiece.
