Hamden Resident To Play Field Hockey in Australia This Summer

Zoe Fanolis, a member of the SCSU women's field hockey team, will play with a USA Athletes International team this summer.

Hamden’s Zoe Fanolis, who recently completed her junior season as a member of the Southern Connecticut State University field hockey team, has been selected as part of a team that will represent USA Athletes International (USAAI) in Australia this summer.

The squad will play in the Victorian Country Field Hockey Tournament in Melbourne. The trip will run from June 6-18.

The anchor of the Owls’ midfield unit, Fanolis earned All-Conference honors during her junior season. She started all 18 games last fall and posted new career-highs in goals (four) and points (10). She ranked third on the team in both categories, while also playing an integral role on offensive penalty corners.
