Hamden Resident Wins Big Lottery Prize

The resident bought the winning ticket at a business in a nearby town, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

HAMDEN, CT — A Hamden resident recently won more than $13,000 on a lottery ticket that was sold in Cheshire, according to the Connecticut Lottery.

A Hamden resident and a Seymour resident each claimed a $13,226 prize on Sept. 30 on $5 SMOKIN' HOT CASH PROGRESSIVE tickets that were sold at Global Montello Group at 995 South Main St. in Cheshire, according to lottery officials.

The CT Lottery no longer publishes winners’ names without their written consent in accordance with a new Connecticut law, which was effective Oct. 1, 2025.
