Hamden Rovers remain undefeated after 2-2 draw at home
Rovers dropped points at home after a 2-2 draw with Bridgeport in Connecticut Adult Soccer League
It was a hard fought battle at home against a tough Bridgeport team who came out to play. Bridgeport went up 1-0 early in the first half after a 22 yard screamer from outside the 18 that beat the outstretched arms of the Hamden goal keeper. Hamden later equalized from a Ricardo header close to the end of the 1st half. Rovers went up 2-1 after some good one two passes followed by a well placed shot from Rocky. In the second half Bridgeport kept pressing and eventually got the equalizer from a 30 yard bomber from midfield. Both teams traded punches with Hamden having most of the chances to put the game away. Bridgeport could have sealed victory after a penalty was awarded late in the game which was saved by the Rovers keeper Colin. Both teams later traded laughs, ate and played dominoes after the game. With 15 games played, Hamden Rovers remain on top of the league with 35 points followed by Nonnewaug with 28 points. The next game for the Rovers is at home against New Fairfield on 9/22.
