Hamden’s ‘A+’ Bond Rating Reaffirmed

Standard & Poor's Global also affirmed the town's rating on outstanding debt.

HAMDEN, CT – Hamden’s A+ long-term bond rating has been reaffirmed by Standard & Poor’s Global. In addition, Standard & Poor’s has also affirmed the town’s A+ rating on outstanding debt.

“In our view, Hamden maintains a very strong capacity to pay principal and interest when the notes come due,” Standard & Poor’s said in a statement. “The town maintains a market risk profile that we find low.”

Mayor Curt Leng said: “This administration has worked very hard to ensure that Hamden is maintaining or improving short and long-term bond ratings.

“We will continue strengthening and securing Hamden’s financial future, responsibly managing and blanking our bidets, improving our commercial sectors and grand list and stabilizing the town’s tax rate,” the mayor said.
