Hamden Safety Alert System Registration: What To Know
Police are reminding families and caregivers to register or update information for the town's effort with the LINKED – Autism Safety Project
HAMDEN, CT — The Hamden Police and Fire Departments are reminding families and caregivers to register or update information for the Town of Hamden’s official Safety Alert System, part of an ongoing partnership with the LINKED – Autism Safety Project.
The national initiative, founded by Autism advocate Ashley McClain, “supports first responders with the training, tools, and resources necessary to safely and effectively interact with individuals with Autism and other disabilities during emergencies,” according to a news release.
Through this voluntary, confidential system, families can provide individualized information that enables first responders to develop pre-arrival response plans tailored to the specific needs of registered individuals, according to the news release.
