Hamden Senior Center Renovations Under Way

The Legislative Council approved an amendment to the renovation project that will provide for additional improvements, officials said.

HAMDEN, CT - From the Town of Hamden Office of the Mayor: Mayor Curt Balzano Leng is very pleased to report that the Hamden Legislative Council recently approved an amendment to the planned Senior Center Renovation project which will now provide additional improvements for a wide range of citizen and Department needs. The renovation project has been planned for a number of years, and capital funding has been approved and allocated for its completion.

Renovations to the Hamden Senior Center will include the following: renovations to the senior center bathrooms, including ADA requirements, the construction of a new kitchen facility and food pantry, operational changes designed to bring staff together for more efficient work space, a dividing partition wall for the main senior center room for additional activity accommodations, and the construction of a small outdoor patio for seniors to enjoy. The Town is pleased to report that the renovations to the bathroom, kitchen, and pantry facilities have been completed.

Commenting on the completed and upcoming renovations, Mayor Curt Leng said, “It is with great pride that the Town of Hamden renovates our Senior Center facilities. Our seniors are the backbone of our communities, and they deserve to enjoy facilities that we can all be proud of. I am very pleased to see these improvements nearing completion, and I thank the Legislative Council for their willingness to accommodate the needs of our senior residents.”
