Hamden Silverbells Celebration Details Announced
The festivities include hayrides, a puppet show, caroling, crafts, tree lighting, Santa's arrival by firetruck and more. Read details here.
HAMDEN, CT — (From Town of Hamden): Town Center Park in Hamden will be filled with holiday lights and community merrymaking from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 for Hamden's Silverbells Celebration.
Festivities will include free lunch (first come, first served) with Mr. Claus, a puppet show, hayrides, letters to Santa, various holiday crafts, caroling, tree lighting, and Santa’s arrival by fire truck.
Lunch with Mr. Claus and the puppet show will take place at Thornton Wilder Hall, and more festivities such as caroling and tree lighting will take place at Town Center Park:

At Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Cultural Center, 2901 Dixwell Ave., festivities include:
1 p.m. – 2 p.m.: Free lunch with Mr. Claus (first come, first served)

2 p.m. – 3:45 p.m.: Free Puppet Show and mask-making with Puppet Village
At Town Center Park, 2761 Dixwell Ave, festivities include:
1 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Hayrides, Holiday Crafts, Button-Making, Face Painting, and Letters to Santa
1 p.m. – 5 p.m.: Food Trucks and Crafters
3:45 p.m.: Caroling with the Hamden Girl Scouts
4:15 p.m.: Community caroling and tree lighting ceremony, with students from Hamden Public Schools led by Bill Lastomirsky
4:30 p.m.: Santa’s arrival by fire truck and visits with Santa
The Hamden Rotary Club will provide cider and doughnuts from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at Town Center Park. Food trucks will be on site. Festivities are free with the exception of food trucks and crafters.
Holiday trees, wreaths, and the special edition 2022 Town of Hamden Ornament will be available for purchase.
Please bring an unwrapped toy for the Hamden Kids Holiday Toy Drive.
Silverbells is presented by the Hamden Arts Commission and the Department of Arts, Culture, Recreation and Wellness. Silverbells is held in cooperation with the Hamden Parks Department, Hamden Recreation Department, Hamden Youth Services, Hamden Rotary Club, Hamden Public Schools, Hamden Public Works, Hamden Fire Department, Hamden Police Department, and the Mayor’s Office.
