Hamden Symphony Orchestra an all-volunteer community music ensemble in its 56th year, seeks musicians interested in joining the group for its 2017-2018 season. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Hamden Memorial Town Hall (2372 Whitney Avenue) beginning on September 7th. The Orchestra performs 2 regular concerts a year on Friday November 17th at 7:30 pm and Sunday April 29th at 3:00 pm. A summer concert in 2018 is also possible. Fall concert-repertoire will include Dvorak's Symphony # 9 (From the New World). Bassoon and all string instruments are currently needed, but please inquire for openings in other sections.
