Hamden Teen Facing Charges In Connection With Coventry Robbery Investigation

COVENTRY, CT — A teenager from Hamden has been arrested by Coventry police as part of a robbery investigation.

Coventry police said that, on July 14, Nathaniel Holder Jr., 18, of Hamden, was served a warrant in connection with a robbery incident at a local store on May 15.

At about 8:30 p.m. that day, according to an arrest report, police went to the Save N Go convenience store at 1657 Boston Turnpike after it was reported that an irate customer was causing a disturbance inside the business.

According to an arrest report, the man was "angry" and wanted someone to pay for his gasoline. He then made threatening remarks, jumped the counter and began putting merchandise into a black bag before fleeing the area, according to an arrest report.

Officers briefly attempted to stop the man's vehicle but discontinued the pursuit "due to several factors," according top an arrest report.

The incident was traced to Holder and a warrant was obtained for his arrest, police said.

Holder was charged with:

• Third-degree robbery
• Sixth-degree larceny
• Disorderly conduct
• Engaging police in a pursuit
• Failure to obey a traffic signal
• Reckless driving
• Unsafe passing
• Speeding

Holder was initially held on a $50,000 bond, but that was reduced to a promise to appear on Aug. 20 in Rockville Superior Court, judicial system records show.
