Hamden Veterans Day Ceremony Details Announced

Residents are invited to join town officials at this year's Veterans Day Ceremony.

HAMDEN, CT — Residents are invited to join town officials at this year’s Veterans Day Ceremony, the Town of Hamden and Hamden’s Veterans Commission announced in a joint news release.

The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Monument in front of the Hamden Middle School, located at 2623 Dixwell Avenue.

Veterans’ organizations will lay wreaths at the Veterans Monument and Hamden Public School students will attend and participate in this year’s ceremony. We will recognize the 240th Anniversary of the Purple Heart Foundation, with guest speaker Daniel Eddinger, Major, USA Retired. A special message honoring Hamden’s designation as a Purple Heart City will be read by Mayor Lauren Garrett. The Hamden Police and Fire Departments will provide the Honor Guard for the ceremony.

All Hamden Public Schools will be honoring veterans throughout the day with lessons and assemblies.
