Hamden's Bhatt Earns Northeast-10 All-Academic Team Honors

Hamden’s Dean Bhatt, a sophomore on the Southern Connecticut State University men’s indoor track and field team, has been named to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team for his achievements athletically and academically this winter.

Bhatt was an All-New England performer as a part of the distance medley relay and the 4x800 relay. In addition, while competing at the NE-10 Championship, he was third in the 1,000 meters (2:29.55) and fifth as part of the 4x800 relay (7:56.48). Bhatt also ran a leg of the 4x800 relay that won the Metropolitan Conference crown.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.
