Hamden's Holiday Travel Forecast: Precipitation Later in the Week
Here's what to expect during the work week and an early look at the forecast if you'll be traveling for the holidays later in the week.
So if you are planning a relatively early start to that holiday travel … You better watch out. That’s because all eyes are on a storm system that could produce some snow on Thursday morning.
Some forecasts are calling for all rain near the shore, so keep an eye on the radar as we get deeper into the week.

Other than that, you better not cry because it looks like that any snow we get could turn to rain and then mild temperatures move in for the Christmas Eve travel crunch.
Rudolph should have an easy night as Santa makes the rounds, according to AccuWeather meteorologist Danny Pydynowski. The Thursday storm system will speed off for all to have a merry weather Christmas and all to have a good night.

“Ground and air travel along the East Coast looks better on Friday with dry weather up and down the I-95 corridor,” Pydynowksi said.
The same goes for inland locations, according to the National Weather Service.
Unsettled weather may return on Sunday and/or Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
But here are the predictions so far, via the National Weather Service:
- Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 18.
- Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 36. Wind chill values between 15 and 25. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the afternoon.
- Tuesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph.
- Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 45. West wind 7 to 10 mph.
- Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 30.
- Thursday: A 50-percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 45.
- Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
- Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
- Friday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31.
- Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 45.
- Saturday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35.
- Christmas Day: Partly sunny, with a high near 46.
