Hamden's Vaughan Earns Northeast-10 All-Academic Team Honor
Vaughan is a senior on the SCSU women's indoor track and field team.

Hamden’s Sarah Vaughan was one of three members of the Southern Connecticut State University women’s indoor track and field team, along with Crystle Hill (of Norwalk) and Sarah Hill (of Vernon, to be selected to the Northeast-10 Conference All-Academic Team for their performances athletically and academically this winter.
Crystle Hill ran a leg of the national champion 4x400 relay for SCSU and also collected several other honors. Hill was a New England champion in the 4x400 relay, the NE-10 champion in the 500 meters, and an All-Region pick in the 60 meters, 400 meters and 4x400 relay.
Sarah Hill also ran a leg of the NCAA champion 4x400 relay as part of a stellar indoor season. She was also both a Northeast-10 Champion in the 4x400 relay and a New England Champion in the 4x400 relay. Hill also earned All-New England status in the 400 meters and was All-Region in the 200 meters and 4x400 relay.
Vaughan earned All-Region honors in the 5,000 meters this winter. At the NE-10 Championship, she captured second as part of the Distance Medley Relay (12:28.27) and was third in the 3000 meters (10:46.06).
To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: participated in at least half of the team’s competitions and be either a starter or significant contributor; achieved a 3.3 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale); and completed at least one academic year at his/her current institution.
