He Is ‘Kind And Respectful’: Hamden Star Student

HAMDEN, CT — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Linda, who nominated Justin of Hamden.

How do you know the star local student?

He is my grandson

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Justin is a kind and respectful young man. He is an honor student and an avid soccer player. Justin was just elected Co-Captain by his teammates of the Varsity Soccer team at Hamden High School. He has done community service delivering food to the Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen and also has helped with serving dinner there. With a busy academic and sport schedule, Justin still finds time to help his single mom (and his grandmother) with yard work and household chores.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?

Justin is quietly modest about his accomplishments.
