Historic Hardware Store To Close In Hamden: Report

HAMDEN, CT — Hamden’s historic Spring Glen Hardware & Appliance store is closing after 60 years in business, according to NewHavenBiz.com.

NewHavenBiz reports the True Value-brand store, located at 1666 Whitney Ave., is slated to close around Jan. 1.

The third-generation owners, brothers Frank and Harry Landino, told NewHavenBiz that the store has had plenty of business, but they are suffering heart and other ailments that make running the business difficult.
