Holiday Closures Announced For Town Of Hamden

Officials are reminding residents of the schedule for town buildings and trash pickup for the Independence Day holiday.

HAMDEN, CT — Town officials are reminding residents and staff of the following holiday information.

Town offices and buildings, including Government Center, Keefe Community Center, all Hamden Public Library buildings, and the Hamden Transfer Station, will be closed Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. They will reopen on Friday, July 5 at their regularly scheduled hours. The library’s digital branch is available 24/7.

The Hamden Transfer Station located at 231 Wintergreen Avenue will be open Saturday, July 6 from 8 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Trash and recycling pick-up for Thursday, July 4 will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week due to the Independence Day holiday. The pickup normally scheduled for Thursday, July 4 will occur on Friday, July 5 and so forth, culminating in Friday's pickup taking place on Saturday.
