Homicide - 27 Year-Old Victim - Goodrich Street And Butler Street In Hamden

August 8, 2021

On August 8, 2021, at approximately 12:10a.m. Hamden Police responded to the area of Goodrich Street and Butler Street on the report of a “gunshot victim.”

Upon arrival, officers ascertained that a 27-year-old New Haven resident had been shot multiple times in the back. Hamden Fire Rescue rendered medical assistance. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was pronounced deceased nearly four hours later.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was engaged in a “heated” verbal discussion, prior to being shot. That after the victim had fallen to the ground, he was shot several more times.
