Hot Cat Jazz Band to Kick Off Hamden Art Commission's 'Peter C. Hereld Sensational Sunday Performance Series'

The concert will be held Sunday, Oct. 19.

The Hamden Art Commission launches its 2014-15 season of its “Peter C. Hereld Sensational Sunday Performance Series” on Oct. 19 with a concert entitled “Big Band, Swing, Dixieland and More” by the popular Hot Cat Jazz Band.

The band’s infectious music includes Swing standards of George Gershwyn and Cole Porter; Big Band hits of Benny Goodman and Glen Miller, and popular songs from the 1920s and Dxixieland favorites.

All events, which begin at 2 p.m., will be held in the handicapped-accessible Thornton Wilder Hall, Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden.

Admission is $7 general admission/ $5 for senior citizens, students and children 12 and under. Tickets are sold at the door only.
